Rev. George I. Davenport, Jr.

     Rev. George I. Davenport, Jr. (Rev. George) was born in Chicago, Illinois.  While in Chicago, he was a member of the Greater Walters AME Zion Church in Chicago.  After finishing high school, he attended Morehouse College and graduated in 1992 (BA).  He then enrolled in the University of WisconsinMadison Law School and graduated with his JD in 1996.  He then enrolled in the United States Navy Judge Advocate General’s Corps.  He served on Active Duty for six years, where he was a Criminal Defense Attorney, Judge and Special Counsel for Admiral’s Staff.  After leaving the military, he became a City Attorney for the City of Tacoma.

 

     While in the City of Tacoma, Rev. George received his call to proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ.  To enhance his Call, he enrolled in the Seattle University School of Theology and Ministry.  He also joined First AME Church in Seattle.  In July of 2007, Rev George completed his theological studies and received his Master’s of Divinity.  He was ordained an Itinerant Elder in the AME Church in August of 2007. 

 

     Rev. George is wonderfully married to Mrs. Beverly Davenport.  They have one child, George III.  Currently, Rev George serves as Administrative Assistant to the Senior Pastor of FAME Seattle.  He is the coordinator of the FAME South Satellite.  He is also the Senior Attorney of his law firm, Law Offices of George Davenport.  God has called Rev. George to proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ but to also lend his professional expertise to protect and build the Kingdom of God.
