Mary F Handy Women's Missionary Society

Mission Statement

We are called to strengthen our faith and sent to continue the ministry of Jesus Christ by witness and service to the world.

Brief History

Our WMS namesake, Mrs. Mary F. Handy, was identified with the Women's Mite Missionary
/files/Images/MaryHandy.jpgSociety and the Parent Mite Society for many years.  She was elected president of
the Parent Body when the Quadrennial Session was held in Trinity AME Church,
Baltimore and continued to be re-elected.
Today, the Mary F. Handy WMS is becoming more and more involved in the
community.  The WMS is being tasked to meet the needs of not only the African
American Community but to all who are in need.

Scriptual Reference

"Now there are different kinds of spiritual gifts, but it is the same Holy Spirit who is the source of them all.
There are different kinds of service in the church, but it is the same Lord we are serving.  There are different
ways God works in our lives, but it is the same God who does the work through all of us.  A spiritual gift is
given to each of us as a means of helping the entire church." I Corinthians 12:4-7
