First AME Child & Family Development Center

The First AME Child and Family Centers provide comprehensive child and family services at four childcare/educational centers located in the central and south central areas of Seattle. 

Children from birth to 5 years of age are enrolled in our Early Head Start, Head Start, ECEAP and Child Care programs. In addition to providing a healthful and safe learning environment for their children, FAME pre-school staff provides assistance to families by providing health and nutritional counseling, collaborates with parents in developing individual and family strengths and partner with other community services to better meet the needs of FAME families. Our staff is highly trained and they actively participate in ongoing training and development. They are dedicated to the development of young children and the creation of strong, empowered families.

The original FAME Child and Family Center was established on December 1, 1980 and provides free Head Start/ECEAP education and social services to low income children and families in Capitol Hill, the Central Area, Rainier Valley, and North Beacon Hill communities.
